Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This website sets no cookies of its own, and it uses no tracking or advertising cookies. That is why you do not see a cookie banner.
Two third-party services can store small items in your browser: our contact form’s security check, and YouTube once you choose to play a video. This page explains what they are and why.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device. Websites can also save information in your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, or PECR) treats both the same. A website needs your consent before it stores anything that is not strictly necessary for the service you asked for.
Visitor statistics without cookies
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits and see how quickly pages load. It sets no cookies, saves nothing on your device and does not track you from one website to another.
The security check on our contact form
Our contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a person, not an automated program, is sending it. This stops spam.
Turnstile runs in a small frame from challenges.cloudflare.com and only on the contact page. When we tested it, it set no cookies and saved one item in that frame’s local storage. Cloudflare uses technical signals such as your IP address and browser details to run the check. Cloudflare says these signals are strictly necessary to detect and block bots, so we do not ask for consent.
Read more in Cloudflare’s Turnstile privacy notice.
YouTube videos
Some articles, such as Navigating the DEI backlash, include a YouTube video. Until you click play, the page shows a still image from our own website and nothing loads from YouTube.
When you click play, the video loads from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From then on, YouTube may store items in your browser, such as settings for its video player. Google controls this storage, and Google’s privacy policy explains how it is used.
