Case Study

Aviva

Global insurance group Aviva commissioned GDP as subject matter experts to advise, inform and develop new models and approaches to create interactive and stimulating D&I resources for the organisation.

Aviva is committed to creating a workplace of respect and inclusion. In this context, GDP developed an innovative e-learning tool to raise D&I awareness and competence, showing how to put diversity values and principles into practice in a global workforce and for the benefit of customers. This was disseminated through leadership events and, developed to ensure that it is transferable and transportable to other countries and nationalities, it provides cross-cultural learning in 25 countries.

The toolkit won the 2008 UN World Diversity Award for Innovation. GDP subsequently worked with Aviva on cross-cultural modules for a global leadership programme held at INSEAD for Aviva leaders, and unconscious bias webinars for Asia Pacific/Europe/America regions.

Louella Eastman, then Group HR Director, said, “Farrah’s innovative thinking, research and ability to create global diversity best practices and solutions is a huge asset. We cherish her enthusiasm, commitment and high customer centricity showcased by her and her team in day to day interactions.”
